Hi! My name is Sehansa Karunatilaka, and I am from Clive, IA. I recently graduated with honors from the University of Iowa with a B.S. in Human Physiology and a minor in Lifestyle Medicine. I chose the MCA program because of its strong focus on anatomy and hands-on learning, which I believe will give me a solid foundation for medical school. I also appreciate the smaller cohort size since it makes the program feel more personal and supportive. During college, I had the opportunity to work in an array of areas of the hospital through jobs and internships, which gave me a broader view of patient care and how different teams work together. These experiences have helped me better understand how anatomical knowledge underpins patient care and why it's important to combine that knowledge with compassionate, evidence-based approaches. In my free time, I enjoy painting/crafts, music, staying active, and spending time with my friends and family!
